Chemical Health Risk Assessment (CHRA)

Why Your Company Needs CHRA?

The USECHH Regulations 2000 require employers to evaluate the health risks associated with hazardous chemicals used in the workplace and take appropriate measures to control identified risks.

A properly conducted CHRA enables your organisation to:

  • Recognise potential health hazards arising from chemical use and exposure
  • Review existing control measures and identify areas requiring improvement
  • Reduce the risk of work-related health effects among employees
  • Support compliance with regulatory requirements and minimise the risk of enforcement action
  • Strengthen overall workplace chemical safety through effective risk management

Our Capability

Our Chemical Health Risk Assessment (CHRA) services are conducted by a DOSH-registered competent person with expertise in assessing chemical-related health hazards in the workplace. The assessment covers chemicals that are used, stored, handled or transported, with appropriate recommendations provided to support effective risk control. We are committed to helping organisations strengthen workplace chemical safety and promote a healthier working environment.

When You Should Conduct CHRA?

A Chemical Health Risk Assessment should be considered in situations such as:

  • Introducing new chemicals into workplace operations
  • Changes to production processes or work activities involving chemicals
  • Commencement of operations at a new workplace, facility or plant
  • Expiry of the existing CHRA assessment, which is generally reviewed within a 5-year period
  • When requested by DOSH or required as part of a client or compliance audit
  • When significant changes in chemical use, handling, storage or exposure conditions take place
